Let’s talk about bladder and bowel care in Multiple Sclerosis
Learning how to address issues related to intimate health can help improve quality of life for people living with multiple sclerosis

Every year 100,000 people are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) and currently, 2.8 million are living with MS worldwide. MS is a disease in which the insulating covers of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are damaged by attacks from the immune system. This causes communication problems between the brain and the rest of the body. It is an unpredictable disease, and it progresses in different ways from person to person, and with a range of symptoms.
One of the body functions that may get affected by MS is the bladder and research shows that 75-90% of people with MS experience urinary problems. Although a common challenge for many, bladder as well as bowel issues can be difficult to talk about. However, if left untreated, this can be severely detrimental to the course of the disease and subsequently have a high impact on quality of life.
Our mission at Coloplast is to make life easier for people with intimate healthcare needs, which is why we offer solutions to support those living with MS.
